More and more official matters will be handled without leaving home. The expansion of the voivodeship’s Spatial Information System has begun. A press conference on the subject was held on 18 February 2020.
The conference discussed the tasks that await the project implementers in connection with the signing of the new contract. The contract, signed on 17 December 2019, concerns the modernization and expansion of the Spatial Information System of the Kuyavian and Pomeranian Voivodeship as part of the ‘Infostrada of Kuyavia and Pomerania 2.0’ project. The Spatial Information System of the Kuyavian and Pomeranian Voivodeship was created by Comarch, which will now modernize it and expand it with new functionalities.
“In the current EU financial perspective, the ‘Infostrada of Kuyavia and Pomerania 2.0′ project is the most important IT project that the Kuyavian and Pomeranian Voivodeship is implementing. It is its products that are most often used by the inhabitants of our region,” – said Zbigniew Ostrowski, Deputy Marshal of the Kuyavian and Pomeranian Voivodeship.
As part of the signed contract, new functionalities will be created on the basis of information that is already stored in the geoportal.
The way the project is implemented is a kind of innovation.
“All the voivodeships in the country implement their Spatial Information Systems in a dispersed manner, where each county separately carries out tasks related to SIP. The Kuyavian and Pomeranian Voivodeship was the first in the country to decide to build a centralized solution at the voivodeship level, which makes the information uniform and consistent,” said Paweł Prokop, Vice-President of the Management Board of Comarch.
