Artificial Intelligence in Medicine” – e-health project conference

“Artificial Intelligence in Medicine”. – the most interesting artificial intelligence and modern technology solutions currently being introduced to the medical sector in the country and the world were presented at a conference of the Department of Digitalization of the Marshall’s Office of the Kuyavian and Pomeranian Voivodeship.

A representative of the Department of Digitalization of the Kuyavian and Pomeranian Voivodeship, Umweltwerk (the Ministry of the Economy) and one of the project partners, the Kuyavian and Pomeranian Pulmonology Centre in Bydgoszcz, talked about the implementation of the first stage of the project ‘Construction of the Kuyavian and Pomeranian System for Providing Access to Electronic Medical Records’.

The attention of the conference participants was primarily focused on the main issue, i.e. artificial intelligence. It still seems to be the stuff of the future and is often categorized as science fiction. Contrary to these preconceptions, AI technologies are already improving medical procedures. What is more, the Kuyavian and Pomeranian region can boast about a number of companies and research teams working to introduce solutions that may soon revolutionize medicine.

At the conference, TORUN Technologies presented the possibilities of artificial intelligence assisting respiratory therapy, while representatives of Deep Sence talked about the use of this technology in the automatic analysis of medical images. The use of modern technologies, including in this area of healthcare, is also being actively promoted by, among others, the regional digital innovation hub, the IoT North Poland Hub.

The event also included a general reference to the directions of development of artificial intelligence applications and the use of other solutions in medicine, such as augmented reality, intelligent sensors and robots. Attendees were introduced to current trends by representatives from AI Technika and RSQ Technologies. The use of AI in medicine in Belgium was discussed by a guest from AI4Belgium.
