System of 123 large-format public displays for presenting and promoting the regional cultural offer in the urban space.Regional cultural heritage resources in digital form.
The development of technology, especially multimedia techniques and data transfer, and the decisive behavioral evolution of consumers have irreversibly changed communication, not only marketing. Modern communication is moving towards interaction; the modern recipient of information expects individual treatment and demands innovation, both in form and content. Such innovation – moving away from the paper form to the electronic, dynamic one – is provided by the use of electronic posters (Digital Signage). Such devices can simultaneously emit multimedia and informational messages, synchronized from various sources. This approach significantly expands the information range of a standard, “analog” poster. As part of the project, various types of public displays (Public Display) with a touch overlay or passive ones appeared in the region’s cultural institutions: freestanding totems, wall-mounted displays, mobile displays and projectors.
The implementation carried out in 70 different locations also included construction work, such as the installation of cable infrastructure under the streets, the demolition of cobblestones and the adaptation of the surface to allow the devices and the remote content management system to function properly. As a result, the content on devices outside and inside buildings can be changed and synchronized with just a few clicks.
The devices working in the electronic poster system are used both to promote the cultural offer of the region and to present objects digitized as part of the project, thus fitting in with the idea of reuse.
